Link Checker: is this URL safe?

Paste any link below and we'll inspect it for the patterns scammers use most — lookalike domains, phishing red flags, shortened links, and risky top-level domains. You'll see a plain-English verdict in seconds.

Paste a URL to check
Works with full URLs (https://…) or bare domains (example.com). We never click the link.

What the link checker looks for

  • Lookalike domains

paypa1.com, amaz0n-support.com, micros0ft.com — domains that mimic a trusted brand are the #1 phishing tactic.

  • Raw IP addresses

Real businesses use domain names. A URL pointing to 192.x.x.x is almost always malicious.

  • Shortened links

bit.ly, tinyurl, t.co — shorteners hide the real destination. We flag them so you can ask for the full URL.

  • Suspicious top-level domains

.zip, .top, .xyz, .click and similar TLDs are cheap to register anonymously, so scammers love them.

  • Embedded @ tricks

real-bank.com@evil.example actually loads evil.example. We catch this classic phishing pattern.

  • Plain HTTP login pages

Any page that asks for a password should be HTTPS. Plain-HTTP login forms are a strong scam signal.

Frequently asked questions

Is this URL checker free?

Yes. The link checker is free and works without an account. For a deeper scan that compares the link against thousands of reported scam patterns, sign in to run a full report.

Will VeriFyve open the link to test it?

No. The check runs entirely in your browser and only inspects the URL itself — we never request or load the destination page on your behalf.

What if the link checker says 'safe' but I'm still unsure?

A clean result means we didn't find obvious red flags in the URL structure. It is not a guarantee the site is legitimate. When in doubt, don't enter credentials or payment info, and run a full scan from your dashboard.

Can I check multiple links at once?

Right now the tool checks one link at a time. For batch checks and ongoing monitoring, create a free account and use the Monitor and Cases features in your dashboard.

Need a deeper scan?

This page checks the URL itself. For full analysis — including matching the message against thousands of reported scam patterns and getting a step-by-step playbook — run a free report in your dashboard.
